(OBI) and Cornerstone Information Systems (CIS) announced today they will integrate OBI's Infuzer technology into the CIS ResMAIL system, allowing customers to copy travel itineraries from e-mails and from Web sites directly into their electronic calendars and PDAs. Infuzer is a cutting-edge software application, which copies date-related content from a Web site or an e-mail/newsletter straight into today's most popular electronic calendars. Each Infuzed event also carries a memo field that can contain a tailored message from the Web site, ranging from a simple URL to a marketing message.

Currently the CIS ResMAIL system automates the process of sending itineraries to a traveller once the reservation is confirmed. With Infuzer, customers will not only receive the itinerary, but will be able to click on the Infuzer icon within the e-mail and accurately copy the itinerary to their calendar. All Act, Outlook, Notes, Palm and Lotus Organizer users can take advantage of this new service.

Since the Infuzed itinerary can contain key messages and live URLs within the calendar entry, agencies plan to use this added marketing tool to cross-sell additional services. For example, once the flights are booked, the itinerary entry in the calendar may include live URLs to car rental and hotel offerings, as well as, confirmation numbers and emergency support phone numbers to assist the traveller on each leg of their journey.
