American Express Publishing, sportinglife.com, weatherplanner.com and ZDNet UK to partner with on board infoTM
on board info, the pioneering London based electronic calendar software and e-commerce company, has today announced a number of strategic partnerships with premium global brands including American Express Publishing, sportinglife.com, weatherplanner.com and ZDNet UK. These brand partnerships are key to on board info's forthcoming programme of product launches based around the innovative eCalendar Companion series, which was successfully launched in mid-1998 in partnership with existing content partner, The Economist.
The eCalendar Companion series is a range of software designed for all popular electronic calendars on PCs, notebooks, handhelds and palmtops. It adds twelve months of important dates and information to the user's calendar according to their stated interests, and uses an innovative Internet update mechanism to maintain the information on a regular basis.
Ray Eitel Porter, Chief Executive Officer, on board info, (http://www.infuzer.com) said: "With these new strategic partnerships, on board info's programme of new product launches is well on target for the rest of the year. The eCalendar Companion series puts the user in control and ensures that they never miss out on their favourite dates and events. However, these four brand partnerships are only the beginning, and we will be looking to announce more of the same in the coming months."
The four new eCalendar Companions will cover:
From American Express Publishing: travel, sports, cultural dates and events for North America as well as public holiday information for over 95 countries
From sportinglife.com: UK and international sporting events and fixtures from football to Formula 1 as well as keeping users up to date with scores, results and league tables
From weatherplanner.com: 12 month long range weather forecast for over 500 regions in the USA, Canada and Caribbean
From ZDNet UK: IT events, exhibitions and seminars with extensive reference information from the world of computing and the Internet
Notes to Editors:
1. Earlier this year, on board info secured over $1,000,000 development capital to grow the number of premium content partners and to integrate e-commerce services in the next wave of product enhancements. Ray Eitel Porter founded on board info in 1996 and succeeded in bringing to market a range of software for the emergent handheld and mobile computing markets. The most successful was the eCalendar Companion range targeting business professionals who value the ability to personalise their calendar with dates and information which match their business and personal interests. Having formed key relationships with content partners, such as The Economist and The Automobile Association, and leading electronic calendar and palmtop suppliers, on board info is positioned to exploit the need for premium, personalised content and e-commerce services helping business users to be more productive. Successful promotions have already been run with The Financial Times, Microsoft, Psion and Lotus. New products currently under development will focus on providing information on topics such as sport, business, entertainment and the weather.
