Barrington, Illinois: Trondent announced that it has acquired the assets of Infuzer from parent company, on board info, Ltd. (OBI). Infuzer copies date sensitive information from emails or the web directly into an electronic calendar or PDA without the need for copying/pasting or retyping. Initially, Trondent will integrate the software into their document delivery products, AirMAIL® and AirWEB®, so that users will not only receive their itineraries, but by clicking on the Infuzer icon, will be able to automatically copy the itinerary dates/details into the respective date slots on their electronic calendar. The product works with all major calendaring products including ACT, Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, Palm Desktop Date Book, and Lotus organizer.
Wherever an Infuzer-enabled Web site refers to an event or date, either online or via email, a simple mouse-click from Web site visitors will copy it into a users electronic calendar. Any changes to dates can be automatically amended in users calendars as well. Infuzer provides a one-to-one connection between customers and e-commerce players, increasing Web traffic by linking users back to Web sites via their electronic calendar. Additionally, each Infuzer event carries a memo field that can contain a tailored message from the Web site, ranging from a simple URL to a marketing message that could for example, cross-sell additional services. Web sites that partner with Infuzer will benefit from increased conversion rates and "hits" to their sites.
Infuzer already has relationships established with numerous prestigious companies including The Sporting News, Carlson Wagonlit, Direct Marketing Association, Rueters and Weather.com. Infuzer also provides calendar subscription services where users can sign up for things like weather and sports updates. For example, users can receive 5 day, advanced forecasts in the locations they will be traveling or sports fans can receive updates to selective sporting events such as the World Cup.
"The evolution of the electronic calendar brings with it a unique channel for communication and commerce that until now has gone virtually untapped" said Lana Parro, Trondent COO. "Initially our focus will be to integrate this technology into our document delivery services, however we see unlimited applications outside of the travel arena that will also be explored. This is a rapidly growing market with over 100 million electronic calendar users. There is enormous marketing and revenue opportunity in bringing time sensitive, relevant data to users and we will be exploring all potential applications."
