A word about permission-based "opt-in" marketing
|
| |
At Infuzer we recognize that your personal information
is becoming a hotly contested asset, open to abuse from both known
and unknown sources. While most Web sites ask you to "opt-out" of
further communications from them (meaning you specifically need to
take action to prevent being contacted) at Infuzer we will only contact
you if you have already given us permission to do so, or "opted
in".
Although we will attempt to only use your personal information for the
purposes that you have expressly agreed to by "opting-in", there
may be times when we will need to contact you without your consent in order
to provide you with a full service to use Infuzer. As far as possible we
have set out such circumstances in this privacy policy. For example, one
exception to this will be when Infuzer confirms your user registration to you
so that you have a record of your login details and other exceptions are
set out in the section below headed "What will Infuzer do with all of
this information?"
We may share your personal information with our partners who provide partner
Web sites and/or content for use with Infuzer. This information is provided
to our partners in the form of aggregate numbers to show usage with email
address being the only identifiable information. Our partners are then
able to provide you with information and updates for their services. Our
partners can be located potentially anywhere in the world and therefore
your personal information may need to be transferred to partners in countries
which have different data protection laws. By registering for Infuzer,
you consent if you opt-in to us using your personal information in this
way. If the user does not opt-in only aggregate information will be shared
with partners. The users email address will not be provided to partners.
We may also disclose your personal information if required to do so by
law or if we believe that such action is necessary to protect and defend
the rights, property or personal safety of Infuzer, the Infuzer Web site or
its visitors.
You should note that Infuzer is not responsible for the privacy policies or
the content of our partner sites. You should check the privacy policies
and terms and conditions of use of such sites before using or providing
any of your personal information to such sites.

When will Infuzer collect information?
|
|
1. During Registration:
After clicking on an Infuzer link for the first time, whether it's on the
Web site of a partner of Infuzer or attached to an email from a friend who
may have forwarded certain information or content in respect of Infuzer
to you, you will be required to register with us in order to download Infuzer.
You will be asked to submit your email address, your first name and a password.
(We will also ask you at this point whether you wish to "opt-in" to
receive relevant e-mails from either us or our partners in the future in
respect of Infuzer, and related products and services provided by Infuzer and/or
our partners.)
Why?
Infuzer needs to hold and use this information to verify your identity in order
to provide you with the Infuzer service. On registration, we ask for your
email address so that we can confirm to you that you have a unique login
name, which has not been chosen by another user. This is because you may
need to select an alternative username if your first choice preferred login
is already taken.
We ask for your first name so that we can address you informally on our
Web site rather than by your email address. Finally, your password is understandably
a security measure to ensure your login remains private to you.
How?
We collect this information via a Web-based form that will pop up after
you attempt to use Infuzer for the first time or through registering on
our website.

When will Infuzer collect information?
|
| |
2. Whenever you infuze an event to your electronic calendar :
Once you have registered, Infuzer is a one-click service. This means that
whenever you see an Infuzer-enabled event on the Web site of one of our
partners, all you need to do is click on it and it will be transferred
to your chosen electronic calendar. This process is quick and easy to you,
the user, but behind the scenes an elegant system is at work and in order
to complete its task, it will be party to certain information.
What information?
Whenever you transfer an event to your calendar the following information
is passed through our servers: · Your user ID · The
originating Web site’s partner ID · The time and date
at which the transfer takes place · The event details (i.e.
time, date, title, memo field).
Why?
Infuzer works by taking a simple, Infuzer-specific, hyperlink from the
partner Web site (or from an email) and converting it into a file format
recognizable to the Infuzer software installed on your machine during registration.
In order to dynamically create the required event file, it needs these
pieces of information.
How?
The information is collected as soon as you click on an Infuzer icon on
a partner Web site, Infuzer email attachment, or some other source. In
order for this information to be collected, you will of course, need to
be connected to the Internet:

3. When you use the infuzer.com Web site?
Like most Web sites, Infuzer uses cookies to help personalize your
user experience.
What information?
The information collected through using cookies is particular to you,
but contains no recognizable personal information already submitted to
Infuzer.
Why?
A cookie is simply a piece of text resident on your computer containing
information that will allow you to bypass tasks such as the login process
when you come to Infuzer. It will also allow us to better understand how people
like you are using the site, which will ultimately mean a better experience
for you.
How?
The information is collected in a "conventional" manner and is kept
alongside any other cookies you may have collected from other sites on the
Internet.
Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. This includes browser
type, Internet service provider (ISP), platform type, date/time stamp,
this helps us administer the site and keep track of the number of registered
users.
IP addresses are not tied back to the user’s personally identifiable
information.
What will Infuzer do with all of this information?
The information collected by Infuzer is required simply to allow the service to function
and to allow us and/or our partners to keep you informed of any other matters
which we believe may interest you should you choose to "opt-in". As
mentioned earlier in this privacy policy we strongly advocate "opt-in" (as
opposed to "opt-out") methods. Neither we, nor our partners, will use
your personal information to contact you by email without your having "opted
in".
If you’ve chosen to opt-in, you may opt-out at any time by changing
your “Account Details”.
Of course, the nature of the service means that we will need to send you certain
information, namely the events you have chosen to "infuze" to your
calendar and updates and information related to your chosen events. We may
also notify you from time to time through the Infuzer service itself (not via
email) of other information which we believe will be of interest to you based
upon other events you have previously shown interest in through your use of
the Infuzer service. We see this as an expected, anticipated facet of the service
itself which you will have consented to us providing by registering and accepting
our terms and conditions.
What information will the Infuzer "client application" use?
The Infuzer "client application" is the small piece of software required
to interpret Infuzer-enabled events and insert them into your electronic calendar.
It can be thought of as a "fuzelet" processor and as such can be party
to any or all of the information mentioned in this privacy policy and as such
is bound to its terms.
Your personal information can be updated via “My Account” at www.infuzer.com.
This update is automatic and can be viewed immediately.
Aggregated information
From time to time Infuzer may use the information it collects to produce useful "aggregated" information
about how the service is being used to inform both ourselves and our Web site
partners. Importantly this aggregated information does not identify individuals,
so any information we have collected about you will not be available through
this method of data capture. This shared aggregate information will not contain
personally identifiable information, however; if the user opts in during the
registration process aggregrate information collected on www.infuzer.com will
contain the user’s email address and will be shared with 3rd parties.
Will you be able to see into my personal calendar?
One issue we believe will concern many users of Infuzer is the level of intrusion
into your personal calendar and whether or not Infuzer will be able to see the information.
The simple answer is "no". Infuzer is a primarily a tool for getting
information from Web site to calendar and does not concern itself with non-Infuzer
data resident in your calendar. In order to function properly, however, our servers
will indeed have a record of the events you have "infuzed" which is
necessary to process updates to these events should they change. This usage information
may well be aggregated from time to time in order for us to understand what kind
of event is proving the most popular, for example.
Security
Infuzer places great importance on the security of all personally identifiable information
associated with our users. We have security measures in place to attempt to protect
against the loss, misuse and alteration of user data under our control. For example,
our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary
and only authorized personnel have access to user information. While we cannot
ensure or guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration of data will not occur, we
use our best efforts to prevent this.
If at any time Infuzer sells all or part of its business to a third party, the personal
data that you have submitted to Infuzer from time to time may be acquired by such
a purchaser. You agree that Infuzer may transfer your personal data to any such purchaser
of the business as an asset, and that the purchaser will be entitled to use your
data in the same way as Infuzer would under the terms of this privacy policy and
will in turn be entitled to transfer your personal data to any third party purchasing
from them. Please see “Updates to this policy” below for additional
information.

Updates to this policy
We will be constantly reviewing our privacy policy as and when new features are
added to the Infuzer service. Clients will be notified of a material change in
the privacy statement by posting a prominent notice on the homepage and other
pages deemed appropriate 30 days prior to the new use of the user’s information
or by emailing all clients and notifying them of the material change.
